kindness I saw God’s love. He knows what I need and works to make sure that I receive it. God will touch the hearts of others to bless you. When you are desperately in need of money like yesterday after becoming unemployed that obvious request is to pray for financial provision. That is of course a natural request. Your need is to be able to have money to meet you and your family’s needs. Human nature is to want the fastest and easiest way out. But during this time, there are several prayer requests you can make to God when in dire need: In All You Do – Give Thanks. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – Phil.4: 6-7 I had some hard decisions to make earlier in life and one included selling our first home. I did this out of necessity at the time. Before releasing that house for sale I gave thanks to God for all He had done for us. I thanked Him for the time we had in that house, whatever possessions we had in it, for the good times there and finally I thanked Him in advance for restoring and bring us into a new house at some time in the future. That time of thanksgiving was done in tears but also in faith and with that I was at peace knowing that God was in control. The sale of that house led blessings beyond measure – new friendships were gained along with joy of leading others to Christ. I do not know if those people I met after moving to a new location would have come to know Christ if we didn’t have to sell our house. Take time to review where you are financially and seek God’s guidance from His word, in prayer, with the help of a friend or financial professional to get your finances in order. Along with your financial review, ask God for wisdom to know what to do with what you have. Another way to put this is, ask for a contented heart – not just for yourself but for your family members as well. If your family is of one mind concerning your finances then some of pressure is eased because there is less demand to provide more than you are currently capable of. Another way of viewing this is to ask God to curb your desires for anything other than what is needed. Ask Him for spending wisdom. Ask For Forgiveness (If You Need To). Often times we think that our problems including our financial crisis is a result of something we did wrong. I spent a long time trying to figure what I had done to cause the problems I was experiencing. I don’t know how many times I asked God for forgiveness for any sin and financial mismanagement I had done. The truth is we are not perfect and we do sin but our financial troubles are not always a result of something we did. I would encourage you to examine your heart and see if you have made any financial blunders that have caused the trouble you are experiencing. However, once you have sought God’s forgiveness, know that He does not hold it against you; seek His will and move on. Ask God to Release You from Anything That May Be Hindering the Greatest Blessing of All – A Right Relationship with Him. The truth is financial challenges can be very stressful. In the midst of these situations you can experience anger and bitterness. You may find yourself blaming oth
