Tips to prevent Pink Eye
Treatment of Conjunctivitis:
Viral conjunctivitis may clear up in seven to fourteen days without treatment. Antiviral medication can be prescribed by a physician to treat serious forms of viral conjunctivitis. Antibiotics will not improve viral conjunctivitis because antibiotics are not effective against virus.
In Inflammation. Itching, Redness
Bacterial conjunctivitis is often mild and may last as few as three to five days or up to one to two weeks. Antibiotics are prescribed to treat the bacterial infection and reduce the spread of infection to others. These are usually topical medications in the form of eye drops.
Allergic conjunctivitis clears up once the allergen or irritant is removed. Antiallergic eye drops can provide relief from allergic conjunctivitis. Cold compresses and artificial tears sometimes help with itching and burning.

Tips to prevent Pink Eye

Wash your hands often with soap and water, and help young children do the same. Wash hands especially well after touching with pink eye or their items.
Avoid touching or rubbing your eyes. This can worsen the condition or can spread it to other eye.
Avoid sharing personal items such as make up, eye drops, towel, bedding, contact lenses and eyeglasses.
Do not use the same products for your infected and noninfected eyes.
Include Vitamin A rich diet like milk products, tomatoes, green leafy vegetables etc.
Change your pillowcase often.
Stop wearing contact lenses until your ophthalmologist says it is OKAY
