Grammy’s Magic Millet

Millet is wonderful for building blood, so this recipe
was perfect for me after giving birth. My mom made
this recipe for me several times when she was helping
out right after Murphy was born. Thanks, Mom!
INGREDIENTS (USE ORGANIC)
• 1 cup millet
• 2½ cups water
• 1 Tablespoon Garden of Life Coconut Oil
• 6 Medjool dates, pits removed
• ¼ teaspoon sea salt
DIRECTIONS
Heat up a pot and place millet inside, stirring frequently for
2 minutes to toast the millet. Add water and bring to a boil. Reduce
heat to medium and add coconut oil, dates and salt. Cook on low,
and simmer for 20 minutes. Eat warm. Try adding ½ teaspoon
of cinnamon and/or fresh berries on top, if desired. Lasts 5 days
refrigerated. It’s gluten free, dairy free, vegan and soy free.
Crockpot Chuck
INGREDIENTS (USE ORGANIC)
• 1½ pounds of boneless beef chuck roast
• 2 Tablespoons Garden of Life Coconut Oil
• sea salt
• 1½ cups beef or chicken broth
• ½ cup red wine or an additional
½ cup of broth
• 1 28-ounce can of diced tomatoes
• 1½ cups chopped carrots
• 1 cup chopped onions
• 6 garlic cloves
• 3 bay leaves
• 1 Tablespoon Italian seasoning
DIRECTION
Turn crockpot on high and add in all ingredients, except the
chuck roast. Generously salt the chuck roast on both sides.
Place coconut oil in a skillet on stovetop and heat on high. Place chuck roast
in skillet and let sear for 2 minutes on each side. Next, place the chuck roast
in the crockpot, cover with lid and let cook for 6 hours. Lasts 5 days refrigerated.

The crockpot became my new best friend after Murphy was born
because I could make some delicious recipes that didn’t take a lot of
time. Basically, you just throw everything into the crockpot and let it
do its magic for several hours, which leaves you more time for baby!
