11 Harman created the Homecoming theme “Everyday Heroes, Extraordinary Impact” and launched the first ever Project Trojan H.E.R.O. (Helping to Encourage Responsible Outcomes). The project paired student organizations with local businesses and organizations to complete 30 community service hours in the community. Episilon Beta and Rachel’s Challenge paired with Community Opportunities to clean, organize and catalog the organization’s basement. Future Business Leaders of America joined merica i i with Peoples Bank & Trust to perform m tasks at Earthwise Industries. Project rojec Trojan H.E.R.O. even trickled down to d t the middle school. Troy Middle School e Technology Student Association went to on the Lincoln County Council on Aging to Aging wash their vans and help with other h other h jobs around the center. Harman an said there were about eight student organizations paired in the community. The positive approach to e Homecoming even caught the attention of KSDK. Channel 5 Reporter Shannon Diffin attended the tailgate and game to feature it later that evening. Harman believes the new approach to Homecoming is just the beginning of a new tradition in Troy.
