10 Putting "Home" In Homecoming Cited as the “best Homecoming ever” by those involved, the fall 2013 event had students, employees, community members and even the local news station (KSDK) talking. The changes slowly began in the fall of 2012 with the first major change to Homecoming; the parade and game would be hosted on a Saturday. In years’ past, the parade was on a Thursday afternoon at 4 pm and the game was on a Friday night. Save the date for Homecomings to come: Sept. 13, 2014 & Sept. 17, 2015 Elementary schools quickly jumped aboard the change and incorporated floats and student ambassadors to walk in the parade.
