Costumed artisans display their handicrafts at rustic stalls, the smells of freshly-made local food waft through the streets, and music, dancing, jousting and jesters keep the crowds entertained. • Sineu 5th May • Capdepera 17th-19th May • Santanyi 2nd June May Fairs All around the island, villages celebrate the arrival of summer with lively May fairs. The festivities centre on local produce from snails to flowers, and there are agricultural exhibitions, animals, handicraft stalls and lots of traditional foods to try. On this night of the summer solstice there are bonfires, fireworks, and the famous Correfoc (fire run) where fire-toting devils race through the streets of Palma. The festivities centre around the Parc de la Mer in front of the cathedral. 23rd June from 10pm. Yachting Events Over 1,000 superyachts are on display in all their glitz and glory at Palma’s International Boat Show from 1st to 5th May.
