Light Commercial Vehicle RV Trends . Practicality, fit for purpose and need are the key things to consider with setting RVs for any LCV. For example it is of less use and therefore more limited appeal if a vehicle has a large volume load area where much of the floor space is obstructed by sills and wheel arches etc. Unlike the more commoditised passenger car, LCV sales and used values tend to move in line with the economy rather than fashion. Since some of the recent economic volatility has not been forecast by economists the trend in LCV RVs have generally been more stable. This creates a risk when the vans get sold as a used vehicle into that volatile and therefore more depressed market place. Ireland is the second largest right hand drive market in Europe but its total LCV sales in 2015 were only 6.3% of the UK’s therefore unlike in the rest of Europe where cross border trading is possible, the UK LCV market is selfdetermining resulting in the much lower RVs seen. 36 34 32 30 28 26 24 22 20 18 16 14 12 10 2010 % RV - V5 Small Panel Van Diesel Segment 2011 EU Average Spain 2012 France Portugal 2013 2014 Germany UK European Automotive Report - 2016 Quarter 2 2015 Italy 2016 36 34 32 30 28 26 24 22 20 18 16 14 12 10 2010 36 34 32 30 28 26 24 22 20 18 16 14 12 10 2010 % RV - V1,2,3 CDV & Small Compact Vans Diesel Segments 2011 EU Average Spain 2012 France Portugal 2013 2014 Germany UK 2015 Italy 2016 % RV - V7 Large Panel Van Diesel Segment 2011 EU Average Spain 2012 2013 France Portugal 2014 Germany UK 2015 Italy 2016 Source: Experteye AG.
