Steering the future for experience-led destinations

ixed-use estates are increasingly recognised as the optimal development solution where the size and location of the site permits , as we all look for engaging , experiential-led destinations in which to live , work , shop , eat , drink and play .
This trend has been exacerbated in the past three years with the rise of a new generation of renters and buyers entering the market who prioritise wellbeing and work / life balance and will increasingly dominate as real estate purchasers .
Battersea Power Station has championed and adhered to the mixed-use concept within the masterplan since its inception more than 10 years ago . Within the Grade II * listed Power Station , which opened to the public in October 2022 and sits at the heart of the 42 acre development , are over 100 shops , restaurants and bars , 565,000 sq ft of office space and 254 apartments .
Our aim is to ensure we are contributing not only to the neighbourhood we are creating here but also to the wider community within this area of London whether that is via improving transport links , creating 19 acres of open space for all to enjoy , hosting free events or creating employment opportunities .
Making the destination unique is the architectural landmark these components sit within . Visiting Battersea Power Station is as much about discovering its industrial history , as it is about enjoying our range of British and international brands .
Key to making a project like this successful is having the right asset allocation and within that , the right retail and F & B mix . Our masterplan approach has been for just over 50 % of the total space to be allocated to commercial uses and within that to offer something for everyone , with high-street favourites sitting alongside premium brands , and a number of smaller independent shops that we are proud to support and help grow . We have a diverse mix of bars and eateries , from cocktails amongst the original equipment of Control Room B , to a quick bite to eat , or an array of fine dining options .
Sitting alongside this are unique leisure experiences including Lift 109 , a glass elevator inside the Power Station ’ s north west chimney , two cinemas , a theatre , and sports and gaming including crazy golf , a virtual reality arcade and ping pong .
