We host free large-scale events to celebrate key moments throughout the year , including the Light Festival , which recently returned for its third year , and our festive ice rink , Glide at Battersea Power Station , which launched last year as well as our recent Coronation party which attracted more than 50,000 visitors .
The social and economic impact of mixed-use projects is crucial and ensures we have a far reaching , positive impact on the surrounding area and indeed the rest of the UK . We have already created over 3,000 jobs with more than 1,000 for people from our local area . Recruiting local has been prioritised - we established Battersea Academy for Skills & Employment ( BASE ) to connect local people with jobs and training with the ambition for 20 % of the working population coming from the local area .

Such a significant mixed-use project also provides the opportunity for wellbeing initiatives , which we have prioritised in the design of the public realm across the masterplan . Through considered design , with an abundance of diverse outdoor spaces , our landscaping has been designed to build and foster community spirit . We have also applied biophilic design principles to encourage visitors to interact with nature and wildlife , proven to help reduce isolation and loneliness .
We have already welcomed over five million people through the door and with lots more to come to add to the existing offering in the coming months there ’ s plenty of reasons to come back .
