Szczepaniak Teh worked with established beauty brand L ’ Occitane to create an ambient and immersive installation in its flagship London store .
Inspired by the renowned golden light found in the brand ’ s home of Provence , the practice designed The Golden Hour . Two thousand convex lenses were suspended in space to form a delicate veil , refracting light to create a golden wash which spilled out to the pavement enveloping passers-by in its glow . Diffusers emitted L ’ Occitane ’ s signature scent - Terre de Lumière - to produce an opulent , multi-sensory experience which brought consumers flocking to the store and a 20 % increase in sales on the first day alone .
