Mining

Mining has affected the indigenous people for a long time. It is still affecting them because all the pollution that mining causes is polluting their lands. It causes destruction of the indigenous territory, since mining occurs near the places where they live. At the same time, mining is somehow good for indigenous people, because it is a way to negotiate, and in some tribes it is the base of their economy.

They use precious stones on their jewelry and they also use them in their rituals. Some stones they use are:

Gold

Emerald

And they also considerate animal bones like a precious stones, so they use it on their jewelry. Mining affects indigenous people because it destroys their territory, and land for indigenous people means a lot; it is like their life. When miners invade their territory they ruin indigenous crops and zones
