You’ ve mentioned that you are into cars, does that mean you consider yourself a petrol head? Lol, yeah I would say I’ m a petrol head against my will, because I’ m surrounded by so many of them.
You are also involved in drifting; tell us a bit more please. Well the drifting side of things and the project that I’ m doing, the SR4A( Safer Roads 4 All) is linked together. I’ ve being blessed to be surrounded by awesome people, from our neighbourhoods and communities as well, because before I got involved within the drifting scene, I was on tour constantly. I was in a very one dimensional space, until drifting came along I attended a couple of shows on the grass roots, I’ ve been checking out some of the local guys come out and spin their cars, and through the TV show I’ ve been exposed to it more and more. I grew up you know with Indiana and Strandfontein Pavilion as a kid and checking out the pop-a-wheelie stuff going on, but ever since drifting came along, I was just freaking blown away. How can you keep a car going sideways, and technically and logically, it doesn’ t make sense to be able to do that. So that drew me in, number one you know was people being able to do that. You know it’ s not just about us, it’ s not just about cars, we got to do something with what we have to be able to plant seeds and be able to do something in the community as well. So that helped a lot, you know to keep me, if you want to call it, more devoted to the scene. So as the crew grew I grew and eventually I started getting into movies and ads as a stunt driver. We started doing big shows, through the crew and kind of venturing down the avenues of becoming more involved with organising of events and so forth. So here I am still going sideways and I’ m rolling out this initiative SR4A( Safer Roads 4 All).
After all these years, do you still enjoy wrecking the decks? Man, I’ m enjoying it now more than I’ ve ever enjoyed it before. It’ s more challenging now than ever, because of the technology, because of accessibility to the music and because I’ m DJ Ready D, you know I’ m in everybody’ s sights. I’ m kinda walking around with a target and these red dots( lol) all over you constantly, so you have to be on your“ A” game all the time. I mean I’ m realistic, I’ m not going to be there forever, but for me it’ s more a case of …. Me outside of Ready D …. trying to develop as a
