Visibility of eTwinning Projects Group July 2013 Newsletter
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Practised on the long shot scenes (from three
different angles - left, right profile and full face and steady and moving actors)
Each team prepared a storyboard with all the
above kinds of shots
Pupils worked with a camera to shoot the above
scenes
Pupils worked on Movie Maker to edit the above
scenes - Titles, transitions, music etc.
At this stage some videos were made related to
contemporary social issues like bullying and
hooliganism. One of them with the name "A bully
story" was awarded with the second prize in a
national contest.
Stage 4: The collaborative movie
This is the stage where students created the
common film.
Students worked on a common scenario that had
been completed and agreed on during the project
development. The scenario is a story in two parts
where the first part should be completed by the
French students and the second half by the Greek
students.
Pupils used the storyboards for the various film
scenes
Pupils prepared the necessary sounds and music
effects
Pupils worked with Movie Maker to edit the
above scenes - titles, transitions, music etc.
Pupils should have prepared posters,
advertisements etc. so as to promote the film
Pupils should have participated in an on-line "Oscar
ceremony" where students from France would give
an Academy Award to Greeks and vice versa
Unfortunately the last two activities were never
completed because we ran out of time.
Nevertheless the collaborative movie is completed
and uploaded on our TwinSpace.
Evaluation
For the program to be completed we had worked,
with a conservative estimate, more than 300 hours,
in both schools so as to produce in all more than
100 video clips and movies. I cannot count the
photos and the number of the primary shots as
they are too much to be counted.
One of the program successes is the fact that my
students asked me to make their own movies
without my help and without any relative planned
activity. I have to admit that this was one of the
happiest moments as a teacher.
After that came the National Quality Label in both
countries, the second place in the national contest
against bullying, the first place in the Greek
national eTwinning awards, the program was
shortlisted for the European eTwinning Awards and,
of course, the first place in the Medea Awards
2012.
