The doors creaked when somebody opened them. The roof was overgrown by moss, besides some of the tills were cracked. Around the house was a dark and old forest. The area near the house was creepy. There wasn’t much sun, because of the high trees, so there were many dark shades. Every midnight some wolves yelled to the moon. Not many people lived in this area. They avoided the forest because they were frightened to live near this house.
The daughter wasn't really excited about living there, she thought that this place wasn't good for people, but she didn't tell her mum about it, because she knew that this place was kind of important for her. She tried to hide her feelings. She knew that there was something bad with this house, but she wasn't sure what that was so she tried to live in this house normally, but one day something strange started.
Meredith had left the house. Holly was alone, and suddenly she heard a horrible whisper, which sounded like the cry of an old man: “Hoooooolly! Hoooolly! Come to me, bad girl!”
She felt a cold wind, but none of windows was open. Then, she heard a big crash. It was in the attic. She was really frightened because since her father had died in an attic, she was scared to go there. She quickly left a house and stayed outside till her mother’s return.
When Meredith came back, she saw that her little girl was crying. She asked:
“What's wrong darling?”
“Mum, something is not okay with this house.”
“What do you mean child, what can be not ok here? It's a really calm place.”
“No mum, I heard some voices.”
“What kind of voices?”
“I don't know mum, like the cry of an old man, it was so scary. And later something crashed!”
“Oh, maybe you just imagined it, Holly.”
“No mum!”
“Where did you hear it?”
“In the attic. But I couldn't go there…. I couldn't…”
“Holly, stop now”.
“Why mum? Something it's not ok here!”
“Do you hear yourself? What can’t be ok here?”
“I don't know...”
