It was a night of April in Manchester in 1962, when the city was without any history, but it all changed because of one house.
That night, 16 year-old girl Holly was with her mother, Meredith. Holly was a young, slim girl with long, black hair and beautiful black eyes. She was a nice mature girl who was very interested in paranormal phenomena. Her interests had expanded much since the sudden death of her father. He was only 42 when he died in the attic. Meredith found him there; he looked like a frightened child. She didn't know what had happened .She called for the police but they didn’t know what the reason was for his death. After, the doctor said that he had had heart attack because of a fright.
Her mother became a widow at the age of 40. She had always been very serious, shy and introvert, but after her husband’s death she became very inward-looking. Due to lack of money both women had to move out their big, modern, well equipped, fashionable furnished house in the center of London after this tragedy. It was a difficult and painful decision for them, but very necessary.
They were looking for a cheap house, visiting different real estate agencies in London. Once when they entered one of them, a little bit strange looking, the real estate agent, in a very polite way, recommended them the house mentioned at the beginning of the story. When they met with the agent, he said:
“This in the only house that you can buy with your money, Meredith.”
“I don't know Eric... it looks so scary.”
“Ah, dear Merry, don't worry, it's really practical, besides your husband liked this forest in his childhood.”
“Oh, did you know my husband?”
“Yes, we were friends when we were 8 years old. I can tell you that he was always fascinated by this house.”
“So, I want it. It will always remind me of my husband, besides I have just enough money for it.”
“Ok, so come back to London, there we will complete the formalities.”
They moved into this old and damaged house on the outskirts of the city. It wasn’t a big house, but big enough for them. The building looks a bit frightening. The windows were big and dark. One window was even cracked.
