I’m browsing through the phone’s menu to find it. After a long search I gave up and I started to study my phone. It must be somewhere. John from another class said it was a “bomb”.
If it’s a “bomb”, it should have the reader.
That’s when I realized that the colours aren’t just a symbol of our earth. As if they whispered to me quietly that there isn’t much a person can do alone. My grandpa’s words came to my mind: “All people know everything.” I’ve definitely made up my mind. I’ll call up an operational meeting. But who to get on the team of “mystery seekers”? I tried to think of some classmates who like to solve mysteries and at the same time are willing to stay in school longer than they have to. Somehow, I was unintentionally repeating in a quiet voice the following names: Ivan, Jaro, Michelle, Lucy, Peter...., Maja, Matus. Let’s get to work. I took out my mobile phone and started to dial numbers one after another.
“That’s weird, no one is answering!” Now, when I really need them. Or is it a sign?? When suddenly my phone rang. Unbelievable! I really hadn’t expected this phone call.
It’s Jaro. He got me quite angry today in school. He thinks that just because he is a football player, I will fall to his feet. Not a chance. I won’t answer it.
But what if he could help and contribute? He might be familiar with the reader and help us move forward. I’ll take the chance and I’ll answer it.
“Hi, how are you?” said the voice on the other side. “Mmm, I’ve been better,” I thought to myself. “Quite well,” I replied, as I was still a little mad at him. I wasn’t going to make it easier for him, although I could truly use his help.
I decided to stay quiet. I wanted to see his reaction.
He hung up. There, now he is mad at me. But help would really come handy. Pride, shpride, now I have to call him back. Before he could say anything I quickly burst out: “I need your help.”
“At your service, beautiful,” he said mellifluously. I tried to focus on the only important question that was on my mind: “Listen, do you have a QR code reader by any chance? It’d be a great help, if you did.” “No, I don’t,” he replied “but I know how to get one. When do you need it?” “It’s already late,” I said. “In that case, meet me in front of the school in 10 minutes,” he said and hung up. I was nervous, but I had no choice. I had to trust him. It was worth it, as a few minutes later I held a reader in my hands.

Although my knees and my voice were a bit shaky, when looking into his green eyes, the words “thank you for your contribution to the mission” came out of my mouth quite proudly as from someone, who already knows something more. “By the way, have you seen yellow and blue characters anywhere?” His eyes opened widely in amazement, but I could see I got him hooked!
We headed for the informatics classroom together and I could see how I was to solve a mystery and more importantly with Jaro, the best looker in our class. That’ll be something! But........... Where’s it gone? I’m certain the picture of our planet was here before. Where’s the code disappeared? I could swear it had all been here a while before. It’s getting complicated somehow.
And it’s all over. Jaro and I didn’t discover anything and so he at least walked me home. At home I desperately sat down at the computer and entered “blue and yellow characters” in Google search. And suddenly there they were, blue and yellow characters made of modelling clay. They were smiling at me happily from the screen. Oh my, they’re moving and waving at me. “I may have gone crazy.”
It can’t be. Even Alice in Wonderland witnessed things impossible to explain, why couldn’t I too? I waved at them and they waved back, as if they tried to invite me.... like in trance I entered the screen of my computer....
I found myself in a land full of sweet strawberries, talking animals and interactive whiteboards. I was able to create my own virtual world and I even learned something about animal world. I even stopped missing Jaro. Suddenly, I thought I heard a bell ringing and I realized I had really fallen asleep. This had never happened before.
I suddenly realized I had an idea for a project. It will be about protection of nature and environment. Being very enthusiastic I ran home and started to collect information.
