Everything was new and interesting to me. I felt like Alice in Wonderland. I was very happy. Getting a bit of attention, a pinch of love and a lot of patience helped me open the window of learning and deeply breathe in the intoxicating smell of knowledge.
That was when I remembered the names the teacher gave me during our first meeting. Her words: “Don’t worry, you won’t be alone. Pete, Paul and Annie will help you.” I looked around to find them. They were sitting there, not far from me. And also John, who is willing to help and knows how to work that QR code reader. I could barely wait until the break! The bell went off. I quickly joined their group and said: “Blue and yellow characters!” They looked at me in a surprise. “So it was you, the teacher talked about!” I was glad I wasn’t in it alone :-) “Come on, let’s go” and they led me to the computer room. Fortunately, it was open. Or was it intentionally? “Here’s the code!” John screamed with happiness, and read it out aloud. ETWINNING – that is what it said. I did not understand. The blue and yellow characters, ... dancing together.... being friends.... holding hands.... they were screaming one over another and showed it to me on the internet. When suddenly our good fairy, our teacher, showed up and we registered our first eTwinning project. It was then when school became interesting. And not only ours but also schools of our project partners, with whom we soon became like a family :-)
And then came open windows... other ICT tools, with which we were not familiar and doors of which were to be opened carefully. And this is how we move forward and learn to be independent and to cooperate not only in our world but also in the virtual one.
