Young Competitors at SDRC

Well after all the sun we’d all
been enjoying our 3rd and
final Points Show of 2013
dawned……….and it was
back to the regular ‘British
Summertime’ the cooler weather
was good for showing and the
overnight rain but a spring back
into the ground.
This show included CHAPS UK
qualifiers which were judged by Ms
A Masser.
Springing straight to the top of
the class was Lewis Eagle who
had an outstanding day, winning
two points show classes and a
5th placing with the skewbald
Henry, then winning the CHAPS
Non Native Ridden Qualifier and
then taking Reserve in the CHAPS
Championship. Added to that his
other rider Masie won all four of
her classes too!!
Oscar, a 5 year old ‘ride & drive’
pony was shown for the first time
at Shibden Dale by Robyn Hale.
She also had a good day taking
the CHAPS Open In Hand Qualifer
and the CHAPS Championship.

From the regular points show
schedule this combination won the
Condition , Cob and Coloured In
Hand classes.
Making his ridden debut in the
CHAPS Ridden Qualifiers was the 6
year old, 18hh eye catching horse
Maverick ridden by David Bagshaw.
Defiantly a combination that will
go far in the future.

A special mention in this report
goes to junior Shibden Dale
member Calum Majid who won his
FIRST red rosette in a ridden class
off the lead rein. The improvement
in this combination since May really
is amazing, some hard work has
been put in here, well done.
