The fourth annual show run by
the Brimham Riding Club www.
brimhamridingclub.co.uk - the
shows started shortly after the
club was formed in 2008.
They are run every summer in
conjunction with Lindrick livery
(www.lindricklivery.co.uk) at their
premises in open countryside just
outside Ripon in Yorkshire. The
show is open to club members,
liveries and friends and run in a
professional, but informal manner
- focussing on giving entrants a
real chance to participate in any
of the classes in a friendly, relaxed
atmosphere.
A range of classes is available and
this year they included:
Dressage: Introductory A (2008)
‘Walk & Trot’, Preliminary 14 (2006)
& Novice 27 (2007)
Showing: Tack and Turnout, In
Hand, Ridden Horse, Veteran
Horse & Riding Club Horse
Show Jumping: Minimus (65cm

max), Novice (75cm max) & Open
(90cm max)and Pet classes
The show is run by a set of
club volunteers, led by Louise
Ruddock (show organiser), who
set up the ground, run the event,
steward the classes - and clear up
afterwards! Judges are co-opted
locally.
At the end of the horse classes
the pet section allows the
spectators to get involved as
the ‘dog with the waggiest tail’
and other classes are battled for.
Support from local suppliers,
farriers and businesses has been
tremendous - with sponsorship,
prizes and facilities with everyone
getting a mention in the Show
Programme. For the first time this
year an ‘after show’ barbecue was
included which proved to be a
real success. Next year they are
hoping for even more members
and entries.
