We have a dedicated Library and Information Services (LIS) Unit / Knowledge Management Team
that manages and updates the in-house databases. Our team of knowledge management experts
helped us tap into various sources of information locally and regionally to ensure
comprehensiveness of information gathered, cross-checking with primary data and to allow
analysis based on various perspectives.
We commenced the secondary research by identifying all the past studies that have been
conducted by other government agencies / educational institutions on this industry. We
reviewed the accessible past studies to identify existing information that can be used for this
study to ensure that the data gathering process was targeted at information that are not available
at the time of the study.
Sources of secondary information included, but not limited to:
1. Past studies on this industry
2. Data and publications from relevant government agencies and educational / training
institutions
3. Data and publications from government agencies / industry leaders / educational
institutions in other countries within similar sectors for insights on workforce training and
retention initiatives
4. Industry reports
5. Regular monitoring of news articles and online industry forums / dedicated contents
6. Company websites and annual reports
7. Ipsos internal databases (statistics, previous similar studies conducted, industry
publications, white papers, etc)
1.5.3 Quantitative survey with companies
Quantitative survey was conducted with companies within the MedDev industry via online
questionnaire, email and telephone.

A database of all manufacturers within the MedDev industry was developed based on the
