During a small road trip on Sunday with friends to waterloo, along with getting lost, we made many last minute decisions mostly due to our navigator being an idiot. Well on our way back we argued over where to eat. I voted for any fast-food place with a good burger, everyone else voted for Hu hot Mongolian grill. Our navigator once again messed up the directions to Hu hot and we ended up at A&W.

I never knew that the root beer company actually had a restaurant chain, and saw that the giant sign was indeed the logo on the can. I usually do not like root beer, and so I was a little biased on this place. We entered and the decorations of the restaurant was very reminiscent of a 1960’s burger hang out, playing with the brown, tan and white color scheme of the logo, it was very pleasing to the eye. I’m going to skip us ordering and talk about the table we sat at. The table was clean and recently wiped, there were some pieces of straw wrappers left but didn’t bother any of us.

When we ordered there were at least two other people in front of us, but the cashier quickly got their orders and before we knew it, it was our turn. The first two ordered the same thing with some cheese fries, something I’ve never had. My other friend took a second longer but decided quickly and made his order. I on the other hand was deciding between a regular cheeseburger, and a special that they had. I asked the cashier what was the difference and what did she prefer. She smiled and politely told me that the only difference was that the special had a special sauce and more vegetables, and that she prefers the cheeseburger without the sauce. I gladly took her advice and chose the cheeseburger because it was also a whole dollar cheaper.
