ing Trinidad the new title of the cannabis capital of the USA.
We arrived to the downtown area just before sunset. The streets are decorated with unique
bricks stamped with the Trinidad name. The buildings beautifully aged, yet the Santa Fe style of
the Rapp brothers, (architects famously known for creating this Santa Fe style in the early
1900s in Northern New Mexico and Colorado), is still apparent. Some have been re-faced
with vibrant and colorful storefronts where new business thrives for tourists to explore. The
sidewalks lined up with hanging flower pots, wonderfully artistic and graffiti-ed walls, statues
that honor a painful past and pedestrians hopping from one shop to the next. It’s obvious as to
why Trinidad has been named one of the first art districts in the state
of Colorado!
