ust 25 minutes (a little over 20 miles) north of Raton, NM and only a 3.5 hour drive north of
Albuquerque, NM lies a charming southern Colorado town perfect for a weekend get away, Trin-
idad, CO.
Linked to New Mexico by the Santa Fe Trail, Trinidad played an important role during the gold
rush. It was a financial hub between Missouri and New Mexico and was the home of thousands
of immigrant coal miners which led to the Ludlow massacre, the countries biggest tragedy in
American Labor History.
Trinidad is a town that has reinvented itself time and time again. Well known as the sex-change
capital of the world from 1969 to 2010 thanks to Dr. Stanley Biber. Most recently the legalization
