Our Folklore
The word " Folklore " comes from English ' folk-people ' and ' lore-know ' and contains the tradition of hand down : the costumes , customs , songs and dances typical of the country they come from . For the city of Agrigento this folklore is very important , as well as being a local tradition that entertains , it is also a means to increase tourism . The festival lasts one week and in the same , the groups from abroad undertake to hand down their culture , parading . At the end of the festival , participants are rewarded for their performances . Thanks to this initiative we inhabitants of Agrigento feel " citizens of the world " and protagonists of a cultural heritage without borders . ( Tracy Zicari )
