VEGUETA
In 1478 the troops of the conqueror Juan Rejón erected the Real of the Palms. It was the first Castilian site in the Atlantic, as well as the place where the Crown of Castile began the Conquest of the Canaries. Later, it was called Vegueta, a neighbourhood characterized by its old houses. It is the historical area of the capital city of Gran Canaria, Las Palmas.
