Our Folklore
The word " Folklore " comes from English ' folk-people ' and ' lore-know ' and contains the tradition of hand down: the costumes, customs, songs and dances typical of the country they come from. For the city of Agrigento this folklore is very important, as well as being a local tradition that entertains, it is also a means to increase tourism. The festival lasts one week and in the same, the groups from abroad undertake to hand down their culture, parading. At the end of the festival, participants are rewarded for their performances. Thanks to this initiative we inhabitants of Agrigento feel " citizens of the world " and protagonists of a cultural heritage without borders.( Tracy Zicari)
