3 rd and 4 th hour: Dreams in painting
Introduction: The teacher shows to the students 4 representative
paintings that include the word “dream” in their title.

Picasso, Dream, 1932
Development:
The students, working in groups, try to answer the following
questions for each painting. Then each group announces its
answers and they all discuss about the common and different
observations.
Is there a sleeping figure?
“Where” is the dream in the composition? (=in the center or not?
in the first or in the second plan?)
Is the content of the “dream” visible and comprehensive?
Is the event/the “hero” historical event/person or a fantastic one?
Result: The students will be able to practice “a critical eye” when they are
in touch with a piece of art.
