E.L.I.O.T. - ENHANCING LITERACY BASIC SKILLS AND FIGHTING DROPOUT WITH CROSS- CURRICULAR THEATRICAL EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING ID Number: 2016-1-IT02-KA219-024165 6 th hour: Drama in Education – 1 st part Introduction: The teacher explains to the students that they are going to use some theatrical techniques during t he lesson. Development: The students are divided in four groups. Each group cooperates upon a painting about “dreams”. They discuss about the subject, the painter, the era. They think about artist’s choices. Result: The students have a better comprehension of the picture and listen to others points of view – photos. Tools: Pictures Assess: The groups put the pictures in the right chronological order. Steps Scheduling activities , who do what, times, tools, assess 7 th hour: Drama in Education – 2nd part Introduction: The teacher gives some instructions for the techniques “Visualize the story” and “Play the role” Development: The students in groups co-operate, make proposals and find solutions to visualize the painting. Result: The visualization of the picture - photos. Tools: Pictures, objects. Self - Assessment: Each group evaluates the solutions of the other groups and propose changes. 8 th hour: Drama in Education – 3rd part Introduction: The teacher gives some instructions for the techniques “Play the role” and “Conscience Alley”. Development: A group of students play the roles – characters of the painting Raphael, The knight’s Dream, 1504. After that, all the students divided in two rows (= Virtue vs Lust) try to convince the “knight” to take their side. Video and photos. Result: The students can know completely understand the meaning of the picture, make thoughts and feel emotions. Tools: Pictures, objects. Self – Assessment: All the students watch the video and comment the role playing and the decision of the knight.
