E.L.I.O.T. - ENHANCING LITERACY BASIC SKILLS AND FIGHTING DROPOUT WITH CROSS- CURRICULAR THEATRICAL EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING ID Number: 2016-1-IT02-KA219-024165 Communication skills – while working on the Unit students cooperate with their classmates as well as foreign peers. As they usually work in groups they learn effective cooperation. Both gathering and presenting geographic information often requires using the English language which is the tool of communication in the project so pupils become more motivated and improve their English, mainly build up vocabulary and develop communication skills. Social skills - students work in groups and learn some rules and attitudes needed during mutual work e.g. - to be tolerant and empathetic, - to understand and appreciate different values and opinions, - to participate in the school / local community, country life in an active and beneficial way - to be an individual who is aware of different aspects of geography and its role for humans.
