6th, 7th hour lesson: Different groups drama activity: rehearsals and
final performance.
Tools: costumes and objects made by students.
Teachers facilitate acting by providing suggestions and
filming activities.
8th hour lesson: Students and teachers’ reflections on the activities
carried out.
Homework or active tasks
of the student
Activities carried out by each group:
Preparing a Mediterranean mind map.
Surfing the Net to discover natural and cultural tourist resources in
each country.
Acting of one or two examples of tourist resources.
Loading on padlet of produced materials (mind maps, videos on
activities).
Students have always worked in groups, teachers have led the
activities.
The activities carried out have certainly involved students but the
participation was not active for all.
Assessment
The systematic observation of the activities has highlighted some difficulties
related to students collaboration.
Nonetheless, students claimed to be satisfied with the experience and have
enjoyed being protagonists and actively involved in the learning process.
Final remarks
The DIA has certainly been a novelty for both students and teachers.
In the beginning, students considered drama as a game and not as a true
didactic activity. Yet students worked autonomously, following the teachers’
directions, and searched on the Internet traditions and cultural events of the
selected countries, both at school and at home.
