THE CALL

If this world would put down their iPhone, Apple tablets, emails and text messaging and consider using their mouth and ears to talk to God. The Bible says we are not of this world, thus we are not to conform to it. These distractions are technological tools moving us from the presence of God and to be bound to what is going on around us. Our Lord says to knock and keep knocking.

“So I say to you, ask and keep on asking, and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking, and you will find; knock and keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

For everyone who keeps on asking [persistently], receives; and he who keeps on seeking [persistently], finds; and to him who keeps on knocking [persistently], the door will be opened.

Luke 11:9-10, AMP

Don’t allow your curiosity of an expectant email, or text message interrupt your much needed time with God. I’m not saying that these messages can’t minister to you. I’m saying to make room for God in your life. You make it happen. Don’t allow these technologies to invade seeking Him first and foremost.

Recall when you made a date with that special someone to spend time with them. Why would it be any different with spending time with the Lord? A leader once told what is the purpose of an all-night prayer meeting? Are you kidding me? Prayer is our communication with the Lord. If you want more of God, like any other relationship, you spend as much time as you want with Him. It doesn’t matter about the time or the duration of it.

What’s the purpose in taking family vacations? We want to break free from work and spend time as a family so you plan time with them. Oh, how we take for granted our Lord. He is ready, eager and willing to answer what we ask of Him, we just don’t make Him a priority, thus we position ourselves not to receive from His divine nature.
