In Egypt Muslims have been attacking Christians, there have been numerous attacks on Christian churches, schools, and even orphanages. There are so many stories I could talk about for this subject. This definitely needs to stop now, before I got this assignment I didn't even know that this was happening many churches are being burned and people are dying. I think that more countries should be trying to help Egypt at put a stop to this before it gets out of hand. Who knows they could start moving to other countries and that could start wars. These are conflicts we don't need. I also think that they should be telling people about this more because I bet If I asked people if they knew about this they wouldn't know. If this was happening in America it would be much of a bigger deal. I don't understand why it's not like that for Egypt!
Recently there was an attack on a wedding, the attackers came through on motorbikes and “they sprayed the celebrants with bullets and roared off into the night.” (King, 2013) this is truly terrifying. I can’t even imagine. the article claims that 4 were killed and 19 were injured, one of those four people was an 8 year old girl, let that sink in. After this im sure people are mortified that it could happen to them or their church.
Many churches have been set on fire by the islamists, I’ve seen pictures of many people standing in front of their churches to protect them from the muslims. I think its great that the community is trying to help protect their churches but, I worry that the muslims will attack them to get to the churches.
After reading many articles and learning a lot about what’s going on in Egypt it really seems crazy to me that its not all over the news. I think the Egyptian Government should definitely do something about this because they’re doing nothing. I honestly don’t understand how nothing is happening while this is going on.
