STUDENT SERVICES KEY

TO SUCCESS

Student Services engaged in numerous important initiatives to help students succeed , ranging from high school recruitment to targeting EFSC students academically at-risk . Here are some of them :

ENROLLMENT INITIATIVES

• On and off-campus events targeted middle and high school students and parents , nontraditional students , and retention of current students .
• High school events focused on the enrollment process , career exploration , first time in college preparedness , Dual Enrollment and more .
• Major on-campus events included College for a Day , which resulted in attendance of nearly 200 high school seniors on three campuses .
• Parent Preview Nights , which delivered Dual Enrollment and accelerated program information to hundreds of families from grades 8-12 .
• Make the Switch , which assisted dual enrollment seniors with continuing at EFSC .
• Bachelor ’ s Degree Expo , which highlighted baccalaureate offerings , and STEM Career Day , which included a program fair , panel of experts and a career fair .
• The Career Planning and Development Center provided EFSC students guidance on job skills through individual and classroom workshops and a video platform that resulted in over 1,000 views .
• Off-campus efforts included visits to local schools , businesses and organizations , as well as larger events coordinated in partnership with Brevard Public Schools .
• BPS related events including Go Higher , Get Accepted , an outreach campaign for high school seniors that reached 19 schools and 1,100 students .
• There was also an Early College Orientation where six in-person orientation sessions county-wide were held for hundreds of prospective students and parents .
• Launch to Success events were held for the first-time-incollege students to complete admission requirements , register for classes , and connect students with EFSC ’ s eight academic communities .
Student Life Skills targeted nearly 700 high school students not previously enrolled in collegiate academic courses such as Dual Enrollment or Advanced Placement , have a GPA of “ C ”, and are uncertain of their path after graduation .
EFSC PARTNERSHIPS INCLUDED UCF , BREVARD PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND MORE THAN 100 LOCAL COMPANIES WORKING WITH THE CAREER , PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER TO PROVIDE STUDENT INTERNSHIPS , WITH NEARLY
