DELTA VACCINATION EFFORTS
Record numbers of virus cases in Brevard County caused by the Delta variant resulted in the college continuing to urge students get vaccinated . These two emails from September and November show the approach taken .
Dear EFSC Students : COVID-19 cases continue rising in Brevard County because of the highly contagious Delta variant with vaccination the best way to protect yourself and others from the virus .
The following is a list of locations in our community where the free vaccine is readily available . Vaccination is not required to attend classes and events on campus but is strongly encouraged .
In other safety steps , 6-foot social distancing is in place college-wide . Masks are optional but strongly encouraged .

Dear Students and Employees : The Florida Department of Health in Brevard County will be offering first and second dose COVID-19 vaccinations to all employees and students Thursday , November 4 , from 11:00 a . m . until 2:00 p . m . in the Melbourne Campus Gym , Building 6 . No appointment is required .
Individuals who received their first shot on the Melbourne Campus on October 13 , should bring their vaccination cards with them to receive their second Pfizer dose .
For those receiving their first dose , depending upon availability , they will receive either the one-dose Johnson & Johnson or the two-dose Pfizer vaccination .
If you receive Pfizer , the Florida Department of Health will assist you with making your second appointment off campus .
Vaccination is not required . However , it is strongly encouraged to protect yourself and others .
