New Strategic Plan
The College created a new Strategic Plan for 2019-22 called
“Mapping the Future” that targets four key areas for improvement
based on research from teams comprised of 18 leaders from
across EFSC. (Student Enrollment, Diversity Initiatives, Financial
Management, Trustee Relations, Employee Relations)
• Improve student learning, emphasizing professional development
for full-time and adjunct faculty.
• Raise the quality of online instruction, as well as course and
curriculum design.
• Close performance gaps for minority and low income students
and maintain a diverse student body that reflects the community.

Develop and sustain partnerships with local business, industries
and civic organizations to meet the needs of students, employers
and the community.
Emphasize STEM disciplines, postgraduate employment,
internships, and apprenticeships.

• Enhance club structures on campuses to promote campus

• Increase students’ community engagement through Service
Learning, which gives them real work experience by working

• I nstitute early indicators of success to clarify career
pathways, help students stay on track and ensure they are
learning.
• Increase enrollment of new and returning students through
targeted outreach to first time in college students and prior
college students.
• Encourage EFSC Associate in Arts and Associate in Science
graduates to pursue a Bachelor Degree from EFSC.
• Improve retention and completion rates and set benchmarks.
New Robotics Lab Opens
A new state-of-the-art Robotics Lab opened on the Palm
Bay Campus to train students in a field where robotic
technology is playing a rapidly increasing role in many
