December 2018 College Accomplishments
• Future plans call for the construction of a Center
for Innovative Technology Education that will
educate students for the aerospace, aviation,
digital technology and advanced manufacturing
industries.
• The college’s first-ever Student Housing units also
are planned.
New Strategic Plan
Began development of a new Strategic Plan for 2019-
22 that will guide the college in all aspects of its
operation with completion scheduled for spring 2019.
(Student Enrollment, Diversity Initiatives, Employee
Relations, Financial Management, Trustee Relations,
Community Awareness)
• Surveys about attitudes concerning the college
have been taken by recent graduates, staff, faculty
and local business leaders.
• Guidance for the work is centered on Dr. Jim
Richey’s four strategic goals for the college.
•
The goals are improving student academic
performance, preparing students for the job
market, improving the collegiate experience and
improving the college’s financial standing.
•
Other areas covered are subjects emphasized
in the Florida College System’s Strategic Plan to
ensure EFSC is taking a coordinated approach with
statewide goals.
Highlights:
• An 18-member Strategic Planning Leadership Team
has been formed composed of faculty and staff
and chaired by the college’s three vice presidents.
• The work includes a review of the college’s higher
education environment and EFSC’s role in the
community.
