EFSC Foundation Records Strong Fiscal Performance
The EFSC Foundation set records for awarding
scholarships and fundraising in a major step in its
ongoing development to help meet student financial
needs. (Student Enrollment, Diversity Initiatives,
Financial Management, Trustee Relations, Community
Awareness) The college turned in a strong financial performance
on a number of important fronts, including five major
audits, student financial aid and improved student
financial outreach. (Student Enrollment, Diversity

Highlights: Highlights:
• Awarded 766 scholarships to students, a 40 percent
increase over the previous year and the most ever
given.
• Total fundraising reached a record high of $2.3
million.
• Grew the Foundation’s endowment to more than
$22 million.
• 46 percent of all EFSC students received some
form of financial aid.
• 4,316 students graduated, 22 percent of whom
were first time in college students.
• Increased the number of Alumni Association
participants 58 percent and re-established the
Distinguished Alumni Association.
• Held 2nd Annual Donors Reception where donors
met students who benefited from their generosity.
• Received clean financial audits for the College,
EFSC Foundation, King Center for the Performing
Arts, WEFS-TV and the Florida Department of Law
Enforcement Trust Fund.
• Awarded and disbursed over $53 million in federal
and state financial aid to students.
• Improved efforts led to the student loan default rate
falling 3.1 percent to 16.9 percent.
• Implemented a new student fee payment platform
that allows students to go to one place to pay their
bill or choose to set up a payment plan.

Added automated phone call and text message
notifications for students with outstanding balances
and dropped enrollment to encourage timely, full
payment of outstanding balances.

Improved drop for nonpayment processing to
maximize opportunities for students to register for
available course seats.
• Implemented outreach campaign to call students
with class registration but incomplete financial aid
applications before the Priority Application Deadline.
