Tournament, showcasing college to national audience and increasing tournament’s $1 million annual

• Praised six students named to 2013 All-Florida Academic Team in example of high state honors that
several students earned throughout the year. Two others gain prestigious FCS “Chancellor’s Student of

• L aunched Titan Alert system to provide information via text messaging to all students, faculty and staff

• Created six new Associate Degree and certificate programs in the fast-growth job fields of health care

• Initiated meeting with Gray Swoppe, Florida’s Secretary of Commerce and CEO of Enterprise Florida, the
state’s economic development agency, and gained his support for colleges’ new programs and ways we

• Praised last graduating class from BCC and BCC’s legacy during a Spring Commencement ceremony as
thousands of Space Coast residents packed the King Center to watch students receive their diplomas.

• Crafted fiscally strong $74.2 million operating budget for FY 2013-14 that did not raise tuition for the

• Ensured budget fully funded all academic and other programs, keeping college firmly on track as it
expands its academic mission despite losing $2.4 million in appropriations from the state Legislature.
