• Welcomed and introduced Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey as he was sworn into office in ceremony
attended by hundreds of law enforcement officials at Simpkins Center, showing college’s strong

• Created new evaluation practices to accept credits from regionally accredited institutions, opening

• Created the Core Ability and Program Assessment survey systems to coordinate and evaluate
information for Southern Association of Colleges and School (SACS) reaccreditation process. (Employee

on $15,000 state grant for program teamed with Brevard Public Schools that will give students with
disabilities a better chance of living independently and finding employment. (Student Enrollment,

• Created partnership with Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and local police departments to strengthen
college security, including opening police substations on Titusville, Cocoa, Melbourne and Palm Bay

• Orlando Sentinel story cited U.S. Department of Education study showing that Eastern Florida has the
highest graduation rate among all state and community colleges in Central Florida. (Public Awareness,

• Streamlined and expedited the student refund process allowing students to receive their financial aid

• Created seven new Bachelor Degree tracks in the fast-growth job fields of Business, Health Care and

• Ensured many of the new Bachelor Degree programs meet Gov. Rick Scott’s “$10,000 Degree Challenge”

• Initiated Florida College System study that showed EFSC has a nearly $1.1 billion economic impact on
Brevard and Central Florida economies, demonstrating its vital role as a regional engine of economic

• L aunched marketing campaign for first two Bachelor Degree programs, including TV commercials,
public information sessions attended by several hundred people and outreach to 365 local and regional
