Life Skill Based Education Sessions
Sahara progresses everyday with the support of Engro
Foundation. To further refine the skills of our teachers as
well as students, a TOT session for the teachers and a
comprehensive session on Life skills based education
were conducted for girls of secondary section. First Module
of the program focused on confidence building skills,
leadership, effective communication, sexual harassment,
violence against women, financial management, mental
and physical health and hygiene. Students were further
guided in the second module on the skills which play a
vital role in grabbing good jobs and other opportunities.
The sessions concluded with a ceremony in which the
respective teachers and students were awarded
certificates for their active participation.
New Block Extension and Inauguration
Sahara Welfare Society has always been a torch bearer of
philanthropy and humanitarian services. Sahara School – a
landmark project – has been educating the underprivileged
society neighboring Engro Fertilizers for decades now. To
provide for better infrastructural facilities to the students of
Sahara School, New Block Extension was initiated. Grand
daughter of Mr. Chairman inaugurated the project on 25th
February, 2018. A special program was organized during the
inaugural ceremony in which students presented outstanding
performances themed on social issues pertaining to ‘Women
Empowerment’ and ‘Child Labor’. The hard work put in by
students in flawless execution of these performances was
well acknowledged by a huge round of applause by the
audience and words of encouragement by Mr. Chairman in his
address. Mr. Chairman appreciated the relentless efforts of
Sahara Welfare Society in bringing about a positive change in
the lives of many. This new block can now accomodate 64
more students totalling the number to 532.
Scientist of Tomorrow
To broaden the exposure of students beyond the
scope of their academics, it is necessary to conduct
extra curricular activities on regular basis. Sahara
school always considers the overall development of its
students of vital importance and therefore puts great
emphasis on co-curricular activities. In this connection
a science exhibition was held in school on Friday 9th
March, 2018 at Sahara School. This exhibition displayed
many science projects which allowed students to put
to practice what they had learnt in classrooms.
Students participated with great enthusiasm and
came up with innovative ideas. Moreover such
exhibitions can help students identify and pursue their
area of interest for their future careers.
