Daharki Railway Station Upgradation Engro Fertilizers took an initiative to renovate the Daharki railway station and converted it into a modern establishment with the provision of improved facilities. In addition to the provision of basic facilities, including availabiltiy of cold drinking water, special focus was also kept on making improvements in the sitting areas for travelers. Not only that, continuous supply of electricity was a major concern in the area, and Engro found a fix to this pertinent issue by converting all street and station lights to Solar. With due focus by EFERT the once neglected Daharki Railway Station can now easily be compared with the best stations in the country. Plant for the Planet: Engro Goes Green Big Time Deforestation is the second-leading contributor to global warming all over the world. It is estimated that forest loss and other impacts of land use account for more than 20 % of man-made CO2 emissions. Despite these alarming figures, countries have little incentive to address these concerns urgently. However, the implementation of the Billion Tree Tsunami Project in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa by the government recently has inspired a sense of environmental responsibility amongst citizens. Drawing from this inspiration, Engro Fertilizers has vowed to plant a million trees in the district of Daharki by the end of next year. To initiate this two-part project, an MoU was signed between EFERT and the Forestry Department of Ghotki district proposing the plantation of One million trees in forest department land. The first phase of this ambitious project is planned to be executed by August 2018, with the promise of expansion next year to complete the resolution. Engro Fertilizers is one of the first industries in the region to show its commitment to preserving the natural environment in which it functions, and in striving to achieve sustainability hopes to make a lasting contribution to its environmental community.
