News From Africa April 2014 C-o-r-r-u-p-t-i-o-n Corruption is very rampant among politicians in Africa. Economic Development Funds end up in the pockets of individuals in high levels of government. Research shows that a 1-point increase in corruption decreases GDP growth rate by 75% per year. Corruption decreases the growth rate of income directly through reduced productivity of resources.
