For these purposes , the Kiawah Conservancy staff and trustees are dedicated to working within the community to promote wildlife friendly landscapes and preserve undeveloped properties in perpetuity . We will continue to monitor the ecological health of habitats within the Kiawah River Watershed using Conservancy-defined indicators . This will include the metrics used in this report to assess ecological health and habitat stability . Over time , additional metrics will be integrated within our research and monitoring efforts to provide a comprehensive understanding of habitat health . We look forward to continuing these efforts to understand our ecological health and identifying ways to further preserve and enhance our coastal ecosystem .
