Another standout wrestler is sophomore River Wawrzaszek, who competes in the 126- pound weight class.
According to first-year teammate Jeremy Seligman,“ River has placed among the top 20 wrestlers in Connecticut.”
River also defeated Windsor wrestler Christian Terry 17 – 1 at the Ludlow Invitational, where he placed second. He contributed to a team performance that earned a third-place finish at the same event.
Seligman praised River’ s performance, saying,“ River is quick and always on his feet, never on his knees.”

In wrestling, speed provides a major advantage, allowing a wrestler to overpower opponents. Seligman also noted,“ River’ s strength comes from his passion and the training camps he attends … despite his love for eating lots of honey and rice cakes.” This dedication highlights the effort required to succeed.
Looking ahead, Seligman expressed optimism:“ The big Connecticut tournament is coming up, and the coaches are working hard to prepare us so we can win. I think we can do it.” The addition of another coach has also strengthened the team, which was previously understaffed.
Reflecting on past achievements, the team has had notable success. In December 2024, Enfield placed third out of 19 teams at the Agawam High tournament, with seven wrestlers earning medals. One of those wrestlers, Rob McNally, also won an award for the most pins in the least amount of time.
In 2025, although the team did not achieve overall success, individual accomplishments stood out. Ethan Buonanducci went undefeated( 51 – 0) during his senior year, winning the
