One prediction online had the Eagles projected for a 5-15 season . This was something the team was determined to prove wrong .
Coach Zalucki would not let the team settle and they endured some tough practices , and we were getting better every day .
After starting 0-5 , the Eagles won three in a row and then five of the next six games to get things headed in the right direction .
The Eagles roster had zero seniors this season and five freshmen saw varsity time during the year . Junior Jason Mahon was named All-Conference as a guard for the Eagles . “ Next season will be our breakout year from the jump ,” said the junior captain , Mahon . Junior Josiah Upson also had a great season averaging 15 points and 9.5 rebounds in the season . “ We might have lost in the first round of CCC , but we are going to shock the state by making a deep run in the playoffs ,” said Upson .
The team also has some exciting freshmen coming up in Jackson Davis and Anthony Tallarita who started varsity as a freshman .
“ I expect to see a team that at least goes 12-8 and wins a game in the tournament next season ,” said Behavioral Technician Sergio Deleon , who also is the team ’ s shot clock operator .
The Eagles have a bright future to look forward to .
