(EBSO) is a new and modern building.
It´s the only Public Secondary School
in
Ourém.
EBSO
belongs
to
“Agrupamento Escolas Ourém” (AEO),
which is made up by other Primary
Schools in villages nearby and CE
Freixianda. As EBSO is the biggest
building with the higher number of
students, the main Office of all these Schools is in EBSO.
2396 students are attending different levels of education at AEO. It includes 354 kids in
Kindergarden, 705 students in First Basic Stage (from the1st to 4 th grade), 154 students are
attending Second Basic Stage (from the 5 th to 6 th grade), 361 students attending Third Basic
Stage (from the 7 th to 9 th grade) and 575 Students are enrolled in Secondary Studies (from 10 th
to 12 th grade). We also have a resource center, laboratories, a Gym, a multipurpose room, ICT
rooms, an electricity lab, canteen and respective kitchen and living room with the student
cafeteria. We have four libraries integrated into the National Network of School Libraries.
Students can borrow books to read at home or watch movies in AEO. Students also use the
Mathematical Games Club as a motivational source where Chess and Checkers and other
mathematical games function as a transversal pedagogical tool.
Four types of Secondary Education Courses are available: Scientific-Humanistic courses,
Technological courses and Specialised Artistic courses; then we have Vocational courses which
are designed for students that wish to join the job market. These students who are attending
vocational courses can study: Business, Healthy Technician, Electronics/Mechanics or
