My friendship with Garry spanned a period of over 40 years . For many of those years I was employed by him . He was a kind , caring and generous man who enjoyed helping others reach their goals in life . His unrivalled success in business enabled him to assist many others by providing opportunities and encouragement to them . Even after our employer / employee relationship ended , we remained good friends and we spoke and met , regularly . I will certainly miss him , and he will be in my thoughts often . I would like to pass on my condolences to Lisa and the family . Rest in peace mate , and you know you left your mark on all those who knew you . My friendship always , Roy Barber
After knowing Garry for 40 years , am proud to say a few words about him . There ’ ll be no arguments when I say , Garry certainly invented the descriptions “ one of a kind ” and “ a hard act to follow .” He was just an amazing man , and contrary to most people ’ s observations , he was not always cruising along in life . The hours he put in every day into his old Wynn ’ s business when only a lad , and the financial pressure he put himself under to make that a success , were unbelievable . So really , Garry deserved to make it in life like he did , and cruise along for another 20 years , and not be cheated in the end like he was . RIP Bro . Alan Jorgensen
