The way to use this is, start with box with title of TIR and then add feet, eyes and hands. Then try to encourage the pupil to verbally add the rest as I write them in.

Always make two copies of mind maps so you can give a copy to the pupil for reference. When you have a go at this again you can refer back to the mind map and score each element using scaling or by just putting pluses and minus next each element.

The best way I have found to use mind maps is to write one myself in the comfort of my home. This way I can include all elements, then it's possible to compare it to your pupils.

Mind maps can be used for all manoeuvres' as well as some situations in traffic, such as juctions (closed, open) etc.. Mind maps are only limited to the instructors limitations.

Try using this for areas that we are currently not allowed to teach on such as motorways, and compare this to dual carriageways.
