Yoga comes from the sanscript root word YUK, which means to unite. Unite what though? MIND, BODY, and SPIRIT! What you think, feel, say, and do will all revert back around and affect every aspect of your life. So think POSITIVELY, do GREAT things, allow yourself to radiate OPTIMISM, and it'll all manifest in your life! This month we will are going to start simple with our challenge! Try these poses, focus on not just the physical, but also the mental challenge of them. Check in with each tiny part of your body as you attempt your version of October's Yoga Challenge. I'm so honored to be part of the wonderful sisterhood DragonFit offers!

Our first pose is very simple, and I feel as though it is underestimated. Mountain pose can be challenging for though who have difficulty staying still or balancing with their eyes closed. The most import part is to calm the mind, relax the face, and allow yourself this quiet moment to enjoy your body. Choose a focus for this pose. Be it focus itself, patience, love, energy, motivation, happiness, forgiveness, acceptance, etc. Stand with your feet hip width apart, glue the feet to the mat, pull the knee caps into the quads, tilt the pelvis tucking your tailbone down, engage the core, pull the navel to the spine, roll the shoulders up, back, and down. Open the palms facing forward with the hands down beside the hips. Close your eyes, relax your face, take 5-10 deep breaths inhaling through the nose and exhaling out of your mouth.
