Electrical panels: – – – – Required—The electrical panel must have all breakers and fuses labeled. Required—There are no openings in the panel deadfront and no open holes in the box. Required—The project uses 15/20 amp fuses only except for stove circuits, dryer circuits, or AC units. Recommended—Arc fault circuit breakers are present in bedroom circuits.

Grounded or ungrounded system: Part of the intent of this measure is to understand if the system is ungrounded. Whether or not a circuit is ungrounded is verification that the entire system is ungrounded. If the system is ungrounded, it must be inspected by a Certified Electrical Contractor to verify the integrity and safety of the system and code compliance. Upgrades to attain code compliance must be completed. The following are indicators of an ungrounded system: – – – – There is knob and tube wiring in the building. Any receptacle outlets in the house are two prong receptacle outlets. The panel has fuses rather than breakers. A building built prior to 1961 without electrical upgrades will most likely have an ungrounded system.
